Overview

Have you ever dreamed about becoming a hair stylist for a living? Or, what about doing professional makeup at a top-tier salon? When your potential career path could take you down the styling and beauty route, cosmetology school is the first stop.

Dolce Academy gives you one of the biggest and most convenient boosts around. The course meets Connecticut’s minimum 1,500-hour requirement and then takes you far beyond. The all-inclusive program, in getting you set up for a comprehensive, versatile career, covers hair extensions and makeup – included in the price here while often an extra charge at other cosmetology institutions.

Added to the professional angle, the Academy’s associated with the Dolce Salon, open for 11 years. Students have access to instructors with experience in the field, while owner Anna Cuevas knows what makes a good salon employee.

Cosmetology Classes

To cover all basics and more, Dolce Academy presents several phases of instruction, each compliant with the state’s standards. In the process, students are exposed to all aspects and challenges of the industry, including:

Foundation

180 hours

Objective: To instruct all basic application and techniques of hair styling fundamentals. As the students moves on to different chapters of theory, each task will be instructed in more detail. Students will not be allowed to perform services to the public in level one. The state of CT requires that a student complete 200 hours of theory and practice before they can perform supervised services to the public. At Dolce LLC The Academy, we DO NOT allow students to work on clients until they have completed 200 hours, passed the Foundation Exam, and performed tasks on a live model. All sanitation practices must be executed even when working on mannequins. Our goal is to condition the student for the workplace by forming good habits!

*The student advances to Discovery once they have completed 200 hours even if they have not practiced all of their foundation skills.

  • Hair Styling
  • Haircoloring
  • Hair Cutting Basics
  • Braiding
  • Chemical Texture Services
  • Hair Removal (waxing)
  • Nails
  • Facials
